ADA Cosmetics named a Finalist for the German Sustainability Award 2025

ADA Cosmetics, Europe’s leading provider of sustainable hotel cosmetics, has been selected as a Finalist for the German Sustainability Award (DNP) 2025 with its groundbreaking Refillution innovation. The German Sustainability Award is Europe’s largest recognition for ecological and social engagement and is widely regarded as one of the most important sustainability prizes in Europe. This recognition is a significant milestone in the company’s sustainability journey and demonstrates that a medium-sized player can deliver impactful results – even alongside global industry leaders.
The German Sustainability Award is Europe’s largest recognition for ecological and social engagement. Each year, 150 sustainable products are nominated across categories, with 75 moving forward as finalists. ADA Cosmetics successfully secured its place in this highly competitive field with Refillution.
Refillution: measurable progress for the environment and for business
With Refillution, ADA Cosmetics has developed the world’s first automated refill system for hotel cosmetics. The system
-
reduces plastic waste by up to 95%,
-
lowers product use and costs by around 30% each,
-
and delivers a clear return on sustainability for hoteliers.
“Being named a finalist for the German Sustainability Award is a tremendous recognition for our team and our partners,” says Christine Reinhardt, Chief CSR & HR Officer at ADA Cosmetics. “It shows that true change does not depend on company size, but on attitude, consistency, and the ability to bring innovation to the market.”
Competing with global leaders
Despite its medium-sized structure, ADA Cosmetics achieves results comparable to international players. An assessment by Score4More confirmed that the company’s sustainability performance and innovation output are on par with leading corporations such as Procter & Gamble, L’Oréal, and Weleda.
“For years, we have invested purposefully in sustainable product and system solutions – from mono-material, recyclable dispenser technologies to efficient refill processes. The fact that these efforts have placed us in the finals, alongside major global brands, makes us proud and motivates us to keep raising the bar,” says Christine Reinhardt.
Proven commitment: EcoVadis Gold & CSRD-oriented reporting
ADA Cosmetics has been awarded EcoVadis Gold for the second year in a row, placing it among the top 5 percent of all assessed companies worldwide. The recognition highlights excellence in environmental practices, labor & human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
At the same time, ADA Cosmetics has released its third voluntary sustainability report, already aligned with the upcoming CSRD standard. This proactive approach ensures greater transparency, improves comparability of progress, and provides reliable insights for customers and partners.
“For us, transparency is not an obligation, but part of our responsibility. EcoVadis Gold and our CSRD-based report prove that we don’t just set ambitious goals – we demonstrate measurable progress,” says Christine Reinhardt.
Looking ahead
With Refillution and its ongoing dispenser innovations, ADA Cosmetics continues to focus on scalable solutions that combine ecological impact with economic benefits. The company also strengthens partnerships across the supply chain to further close material loops and reduce CO₂ emissions throughout the entire product lifecycle.
