ADA Cosmetics Partners with SapoCycle to Donate Skincare Kits to Families in Need Across Germany and France

ADA Cosmetics is partnering with SapoCycle to host two donation events in Kehl, Germany, and Colmar, France. The events will provide skincare kits with Fairtrade-certified body care products and recycled soaps. Local charities Tafel and Restos du Cœur will distribute these gifts to needy families. This initiative highlights ADA Cosmetics’ commitment to social responsibility, sustainability, and community empowerment.

As part of its ongoing commitment to social responsibility and community support, ADA Cosmetics is teaming up with SapoCycle. This Swiss-based charity repurposes discarded hotel soaps into life-saving hygiene products for needy people. ADA Cosmetics and SapoCycle are set to launch two donation events, one in Germany and one in France, to improve sanitary conditions for vulnerable families. These initiatives are a testament to ADA Cosmetics’ dedication to sustainability, community support, and responsible product sourcing.

Donation Events in Germany and France

On November 29, 2024, ADA Cosmetics will host the first donation event at its headquarters in Kehl, Germany. SapoCycle representatives will join the market leader in making five hundred gift bags filled with recycled soaps by SoapCycle, Fairtrade-certified cosmetics, and pairs of socks from ADA Cosmetics. Each gift includes shampoo, shower gel, and conditioner, ensuring recipients receive high-quality hygiene essentials. The bags will be donated by SapoCycle and ADA Cosmetics team members at the German charity Tafel in Kehl and distributed to local families in need.

The second event will take place on December 6 in Colmar, France, at ADAPEI Papillons Blancs Esat, the site of the soap recycling workshop in France. Five hundred gift bags, packed with the same skincare content and warm socks, are being prepared for donation. The SapoCycle team and ADA Cosmetics employees will distribute these thoughtful gifts at Restos du Cœur, a respected French charity dedicated to supporting needy people, especially during the holiday season.

Supporting Fairtrade with FAIR CosmEthics

The skincare products donated at these events are part of ADA Cosmetics’ brand, FAIR CosmEthics. They are Fairtrade-certified and made with high-quality, ethically sourced ingredients. This certification ensures that every product supports fair wages and safe working conditions for farmers and workers along the supply chain. ADA Cosmetics believes that delivering care products should also promote fairness and social equity, aligning with its broader mission of ethical responsibility in every aspect of production.

SapoCycle: Recycling Soap to Save Lives

SapoCycle specializes in collecting discarded soap from hotels and recycling it through a meticulous process that employs adults with disabilities. Each soap bar undergoes rigorous cleaning and transformation to ensure hygiene and quality. By working locally in each country, SapoCycle maximizes its impact, efficiently collecting, recycling, and distributing soaps to improve sanitary conditions for families and communities in need. This partnership with ADA Cosmetics highlights a shared commitment to community empowerment, sustainability, and health.

ADA Cosmetics’ Commitment to Social Responsibility

With initiatives like this, ADA Cosmetics is reinforcing its dedication to social responsibility as outlined in its 2023 Sustainability Report. By collaborating with organizations like SapoCycle and supporting Fairtrade practices, ADA Cosmetics aims to make a positive difference locally and globally. This commitment to giving back reflects ADA Cosmetics’ core belief that true sustainability extends beyond environmental practices to encompass ethical and social responsibility.

About SapoCycle

SapoCycle is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving hygiene and environmental sustainability by recycling discarded hotel soaps. Founded in 2014 by Dorothée Schiesser-Peyrouzet, the organization collects used soaps from European hotels, reprocesses them, and distributes the recycled products to needy children and families. The recycling process is managed by adults with disabilities, providing them with stable employment opportunities. SapoCycle’s efforts have significantly reduced CO₂ emissions, as recycling used soaps emits 90% less CO₂ than incineration. The organization collaborates with various partners, including hotels, logistics companies, and distribution organizations, to maximize its impact. Through its “Bubbles Saving Lives” program, SapoCycle addresses environmental challenges and public health issues, making a meaningful contribution to society.
